I used to use MSOffice PhotoEditor, which was much simpler than Photoshop, yet could do all that I needed, but Office 2000 dropped PhotoEditor. In fact, does anyone know if there's a way to install PhotoEditor from MSOffice97 into MSOffice2000? I never tried, it seems too dangerous.

Another thing is that most distributions (including the FullD6.BAT) place run-time only packages in your Windows\System dir and it has to do that as we can't know what your PATH really is and the run-time packages have to be in a location on your path or Delphi may not be able to load them.

Make C: as trim as possible so your ghost images are limited to your install base and OS. Most data files do not need to be imaged but rather backed up to another file system (eg another disk drive, DVD, etc.) Size the OS partition just large enough to accomodate this plus a little growth.

Have you tried installing a minimal 98SE system on a relatively 'normal' PS/2 or AT386, and then just copying the files across and trying to run it on the target machine? Sounds like you need GNU make aswell, Solaris make has quite a, shall we say, restrictive set of features. ;) Sun's make works fine for most/all GNU stuff; the "cached" answer to the $MAKE question is wrong, though, so it seems there's something weird in your installation or environment.
